In 1971, Reimund Stumpf drove from Thüngersheim to Frickenhausen in his black Beetle for the first time to visit his new girlfriend, Carmen Bickel. In 1976 he married her. Since then, they have worked successfully to build a winery on shell limestone and red sandstone.

Baden meets Franconia. This is the Bickel-Stumpf family winery today, with winemaker Matthias
from Frickenhausen and his wife Manuela from Bühl near Baden-Baden. Bound by their passion for wine and their common values, Matthias and Manuela lead the family winery into the future together. Mama Carmen and Papa Reimund are also still helping out. Because that's how a family business works: Everyone puts their heart and soul into the business to produce the best wines.
“ For me, making wine is a thrill - and a pride. I want to accompany a product that brings people to the table and brings joy!”
The winemaker family concentrates on what they love: Silvaner. Not only because the family winery has the two outstanding locations Thüngersheim and Frickenhausen, but because Silvaner is part of their identity.

Matthias is an expert in making wine, Manuela in selling wine. The perfect cuvée, if you will. Because Manuela has worked in the wine trade for a long time and understands the customer perspective like no other.
“ The customer is our focus and we give our best to every customer. Our customers also look after the children. It's a very family relationship. That counts for us.”
United, the winemaker family runs the small family winery with know-how and charm.
Craftsmanship, respect for nature and the achievements of the ancestors are always important
first of all.

As a VDP.Weingut, the winegrowing family attaches great importance to the quality of their wine. The focus: high-quality wines from the best locations. However, quality alone does not make a successful winery. Bickel-Stumpfs philosophy: The guests should feel comfortable and experience an honest welcoming culture.
The winemaker family combines ambience, style and quality with a touch of humility. Because wine is a natural product - and nature is unpredictable. Manuela and Matthias want to take their guests with them and communicate wines competently and honestly. The winegrowing family does not see itself as a "loudspeaker". Maybe they are even a bit subversive: Modest with the highest quality. They don't allow themselves to be corseted and have their own ideas.
This includes always reflecting a bit further in order to keep growing. Matthias and Manuela both feel rooted in Franconia and want to pass on the feeling of home, origin and respect to their customers through their wines.
